Find out how online retailers and logistics centers are mastering the challenges of individual customer requests and mass returns with more efficient logistics processes in the exclusive professional webinar: "Keeping up with the speed of e-commerce".
Since the home office trend, I've been experiencing just how much online retailing is booming at my own front door. Since I live on the first floor, I accept four to five shipments for neighbors almost every day. Among them are boxes with logos of chain stores that could be reached on foot in five minutes. Just twice that time, i.e. ten minutes, was enough to have a tomato or a jar of jam left on my doorstep by an express delivery service.
This anecdote illustrates in miniature a major industry trend that is pulling the whole of Germany into its wake, far beyond my delivery district in Hanover. Same-day or even earlier delivery of everything - e-commerce is the "new normal" for consumers. They are ordering more and more often, at shorter and shorter notice, and more and more.
Not only in our consulting for logistics clients, we at SYNAOS notice: For e-commerce warehouses, this development is both an opportunity and a challenge. Which side of the coin do you turn? Is your logistics prepared for this new normal or is the boom overwhelming your current order management?
To make it easier for you to answer this question, we'll explore it in a panel discussion with industry experts. We will embed the exchange of ideas in a webinar that you can experience live and free of charge.
