Hanover, March 16, 2022. SYNAOS GmbH, software provider for AI-optimized intralogistics, gains ZF, one of the world's largest technology companies and automotive suppliers, as a new customer for the cloud-based SYNAOS Intralogistics Management Platform (IMP). SYNAOS optimizes the control of driverless transport vehicles (FTF for short) in intralogistics for ZF. In future, heterogeneous FTF fleets should be used with maximum efficiency in all conceivable scenarios.

The decision to use SYNAOS was preceded by an intensive selection process lasting several months. The SYNAOS IMP was ultimately decided by the far-reaching opportunities to increase efficiency and the unparalleled flexibility of the solution when using heterogeneous FTF fleets. The consistently positive experiences of well-known OEMs in the industrial use of SYNAOS software to date also played an important role.

As early as this year, the SYNAOS IMP will be used in numerous projects at various ZF locations. The aim is to continuously optimize ZF's intralogistics processes using the latest AI algorithms and using all available data.

Harald Gärtner, coordinator for the implementation of various FTF fleets in the ZF Group: “The increasing number of projects and complexity in the area of driverless transport systems requires standardization across all of our global locations. SYNAOS is already impressively demonstrating its capabilities with its AI-based software for intralogistics with other customers. In addition to the performance of the SYNAOS Intralogistics Management Platform, we were impressed by the know-how and passion of the SYNAOS team. ”

Dr. Wolfgang Hackenberg, co-founder and CEO of SYNAOS: “Digitalization and automation are penetrating more and more areas of business. With our product, we close a significant gap in intralogistics, which results in a significant increase in efficiency for our customers. In addition, our solution is characterized by rapid scalability, vendor-independent control and coordination, and a simple and flexible connection to existing systems. ”

From an early stage, SYNAOS relied on the VDA5050, a communication standard developed jointly by the VDA and VDMA, to control various transport robots. Today, SYNAOS is one of the leading providers and offers extremely robust and finely balanced traffic management of heterogeneous FTF fleets. This means that even completely different vehicles, such as load trains and underride FTFs, can be used in the same driving areas without interruption and flexibility. It is no longer necessary to assign individual vehicles to static driving courses. Well-known FTF manufacturers, such as SEW Eurodrive, MLR System, Kuka, Tünkers, Safelog and Götting, are already using SYNAOS software.
